France: Concern over antisemitism and terrorism drives away wealthy tourists

The Times (Augsut 11) features an article entitled Airbnb stealing our clients, complain top Paris hotels.   Two sentences are worth noting:

Exacerbating the hotels' plight is a downturn in bookings as concern over terrorism and antisemitism drives away wealthy visitors.

and

"The industry is suffering," said Mr le Calzez, who added that rich Americans were staying away because of a "feeling of latent antisemitsm in France".   

It seems that the reputation of France being a country where antisemitism and terrorism are a problem is well-established.
