Portugal: Scholar calls for the 'extinction' of Israel

Boaventura de Sousa Santos, professor of sociology at the University of Coimbra and the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he teaches a seminar at the Law School on Globalization, Law and Democracy during the Fall semester, urges in a Brazilian site:
"ordinary citizens around the world to rise up and file a class action with all universal jurisdictions against the State of Israel with the aim of declaring its extinction as a Jewish State, not only because throughout its existence it has repeatedly committed crimes against humanity, but foremost because its own creation, as a Jewish State, constitutes a crime against humanity".

He opines that because the very existence of Israel is a crime against humanity and as such does not have statutes of limitations.  The extermination of Israel would restore general dignity for Jews and Palestinians and the world in general whose dignity "was stolen through one of the most violent acts of European colonialism in the twentieth century, supported by American imperialism and poor European awareness since the end of World War II".
